Chung Shan Medical College hospital was officially opened in 1966. Because of the lack of pediatric surgery professionals in the country, after completing the surgical residency training, Dr. Wu went to Jutendo hospital, which is the top pediatric surgery hospital in Japan, to receive training for pediatric surgeons.

Plastic Surgery in Chung Shan hospital started on 1987, and changed its tittle as “Plastic, Cosmetic and Reconstructive surgery” while Chung Shan Medical Hospital in Da-Qing area.

In terms of teaching, we will make our effort in students and residents training about technical skills and medical knowledge. In terms of research, resources are being integrated with our university to establish core laboratories. In terms of service, all services are oriented towards and centered on patient safety, personalized care, high quality and refined medical services.

The Department of Cardiovascular Surgery at Chung Shan Medical University Hospital was inaugurated in 1997. Cardiac surgical services are managed as part of a highly effective multidisciplinary program within Chung Shan medical university heart Center.

Chung Shan Medical University Hospital was founded in 1966, and the Department of Surgery was established at the same time as the hospital’s founding.
