Process for Identifying Material Topics

The Sustainability Working Group under the Hospital’s Sustainability Development Management Committee refers to the five principles of the AA1000 Stakeholder Engagement Standard (SES, 2015) — dependency, accountability, priority, influence, and diversity of perspectives — to identify 12 categories of stakeholders related to the hospital’s operations and sustainable development. After evaluation, the hospital selects the top 5 key stakeholders with the most significant impact on the hospital’s sustainability development as the core targets for advancing ESG policies and communication strategies.

Through diverse communication channels, the hospital continuously responds to stakeholders’ concerns and integrates their feedback into operational management and the sustainability development roadmap. This improves the sustainability strategy and fulfills social responsibility. Effective communication channels also help capture social, economic, and environmental trends, enhance governance transparency, and realize the core vision of becoming “A Model Medical Center for a Healthy Taiwan,” promoting the simultaneous advancement of medical services and sustainable development.
