  5. Lung Cancer Center for Diagnosis and Research|肺癌診治研究中心

Established in 2020, the Lung Cancer Diagnosis and Research Center has secured over NT$100 million in government funding to advance precision oncology research.

Major Accomplishments:

  1. Lung Cancer Prognosis Prediction Toolkit – Co-developed with the university’s Lung Cancer Research Center, Academia Sinica, and National Taiwan University. The toolkit’s development is complete and currently under patent application.
  2. Never-Smoking Lung Cancer Risk Prediction Model – Jointly developed with NHRI, NTU, Academia Sinica, NTU Hospital, and nine medical institutions. The model, validated through retrospective and prospective studies, will be extended to community screening to identify high-risk individuals and enable early detection and treatment.

In 2024, the Lung Cancer Diagnosis and Precision Medicine Laboratory received LDTS certification from the Taiwan Food and Drug Administration (TFDA). To further strengthen translational cancer research, the Center participates as a member of the Core Facility Alliance, alongside leading institutions such as NHRI, Taipei Medical University, Chi Mei Medical Center, National Taiwan University, and Taichung Veterans General Hospital. The alliance fosters inter-institutional collaboration and clinical data
