The Department of Radiation Oncology was established in 1989, located on the first basement in Nuclear Medicine Building. We provide radiotherapy service for cancer patients. There are five attending physicians, two residents, four medical physicists who have all master’s degree, ten radiation therapists, five nurses, one research assistant, one secretary and one clerk in our apartment.
We provide daytime out-patient service from Monday to Friday. We also provide consultation service for cancer patients during hospitalization. In addition, there are community-based educational speeches delivered by cancer team members.
We convene academic conferences and meetings for reviewing treatment quality routinely; hold tumor board with other departments, integrating rehabilitation and nutrition counseling into the radiotherapy course, in order to improve the outcome and quality of the treatment for cancer patients.
