In Department of Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism, we treat lifestyle-related diseases such as diabetes, dyslipidemia (hyperlipidemia), obesity and hypertension, as well as atherosclerotic diseases. We also examine endocrine disorders such as the pituitary, thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal, and gonadal diseases. 
We provide active medical care for diabetes, dyslipidemia and obesity, and we have been rated as a department that practices comprehensive treatment of lifestyle-related diseases. In addition, our diabetes specialists strictly control Type 1 diabetes using continuous glucose monitoring system (CGMS) and continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion (CSII) devices, and offer special therapy for obesity with low-calorie diets. 
We often see the patients with pituitary disorder (Acromegaly, Cushing’s disease), thyroid disease (Graves’ disease, Hashimoto’s disease, thyroid tumors), parathyroid disease (calcium disorders), pancreatic endocrine tumor (insulinoma), adrenal disease (aldosteronism, pheochromocytoma), and gonadal disorder. In addition to the examination, diagnosis, and treatment by experienced endocrinologists, appropriate examinations and surgical treatments are carried out in close cooperation with the endocrine surgery, neurosurgery, and radiology departments in our hospital.  
On a specialized consultation, we treat gestational diabetes and dyslipidemia such as familiar hypercholesterolemia. All of us examine a patient with the aims of rapid diagnosis and the most advanced forms of treatment.

We provide hormone replacement and suppression treatments, special nutritional management, and health and lifestyle education delivered by board-certified specialists in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolic diseases, and fellows. We serve as a multidisciplinary team consisting of special nurses, dieticians, pharmacists, and doctors of other specialties.
