This Department cultivates doctors to become teachers of general medicine. We also have the specific ward of general medicine in which we emphasize a training environment of patient-centered medical care for residents, pgy trainees, and medical students. Our clinical teachers teach trainees of every common disease, and focus on patient care, medical knowledge, practice based learning and improvement, interpersonal and communication skills, professionalism, and systems based practice.
In addition, we provide holistic health care and promise to treat not just the patients’ somatic problems but to also address their psychological and spiritual needs.
In our general medicine ward, trainees have the chance to learn every aspects of common disease, clinical decision making, patient-doctor relationship, social context of health care, communication skills, and professionalism in their teaching encounters.
Our teachers have been selected as the best teachers in every selection held by the department of internal medicine and the department of medical education. We’ve also earned the honor of the best teaching unit and the best ward every year.
